REFUSE - RECYCLING
Refuse Collection - Do not place your refuse for collection earlier than 5:00 p.m. prior to your designated day of collection and no earlier than 24 hours prior to the first Monday of the month collection. Violators will be cited. We want our Village to look clean and neat. Leaves must be bagged after December 1 to May 1. Grass Clippings - Must be set to the curb in plastic bags or containers
First Monday of the month pick up:Appliances - Refrigerators & Air conditioners (freon must be removed & certificates attached)
Metals - Pipes, scrap etc (not to exceed 6 ft in length)
Brush - Branches & trees ( not to exceed 6 ft in length) Please do not put out on your regular day. Please separate brush, garbage, metal, etc. If a contractor does tree work, the contractor is responsible for the removal of the brush

WATER/SEWER METER READINGS & BILLING - The Department of Public Works is installing the new Radio Read Badger Water Meters. If you have not received your new meter, please call the Village Clerk’s Office at 754-8271 to schedule an appointment to install the meter. This will allow the DPW to read the meter from the truck as they drive by your residence/business/apartment.
Building Permits - are required for new construction, additions, decks, sheds, pools, fences etc.
Building permit applications and a list of requirements that must be met prior to issuance of a building permit and certificate of occupancy are available in the Village Clerk's Office, 145 N 4th Street, Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. & Friday 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Storage - no outside storage of any unregistered and/or unlicensed motor vehicle is permitted for a period longer than 30 days. The front yard may not be used to park or store cars, vans, trailers, campers, boats etc. at any time.

Are You Okay? This program is available for elderly and shut ins free of charge. A computer calls you to make sure you are okay. NO PARKING vehicles on Village Streets from December 1 through April 1 from 2 AM to 6AM to allow snow plowing.
RECREATION DEPARTMENT
Youth Programs - Closed for the Summer on May 2008 re-opening on September 2008 - May 2008, Monday through Saturday. Hours will be advertised in the SENTINEL.
Red Brick Classic Bench Press Competition – February 16, 2008 at 10 AM in the Red Brick gym. Registration forms for participants are available at the Village of Lewiston Office, 145 N Fourth Street , Lewiston, NY. The public is invited to attend – Adults $3 – Children $1. All proceeds will benefit the local military support groups that provide needed assistance to local troops currently stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families here at home.
Annual Spring Fling – April 27, 2008 at Red Brick School/Marilyn Toohey Park.
Weight Room - the Village Recreation Dept has two rooms of weight equipment for those wishing to tone or build muscles? The weight room is open late afternoon and evenings during the school year. Come and see what we have to offer before going to more expensive and out of town gyms.
